It’s horrible news for all fans of “Ugly Betty“. ABC says the series was canceled after this season.

“We have reached the difficult decision to make common the” Ugly Betty last season and are now advertising itself as the program we want to allow enough time to write a satisfactory conclusion, Horta and ABC Entertainment Group president Steve McPherson said in a joint statement. “We are very proud of this innovative series and that was important to give fans a proper farewell.”

ABC ordered 20 episodes of the series this season. Alphabetical plans likely to continue the show and goes right through early April, when the final is scheduled to run.

Decision to terminate, “Ugly Betty” run does not come as a surprise, the program has prevented the cancellation of last year, but left his home Thursday for a long time to brute-berth Friday night this fall. More recently, the program has joined hot Wednesday night ABC lineup, greeting earlier this month at the 10 o’clock slot.

A critical and commercial success with its debut in the fall of 2006, “Ugly Betty” has struggled in recent years with the erosion of the audience.

Based on a Colombian telenovela, the affectionate comedy drama stars America Ferrera as an ambitious but young style defied build a future in a fashion magazine in New York.

ABC is the promise that the series will conclude its journey in a way that satisfies their fans. ABC says that eight episodes left.

The series has been greeted with an Emmy, Golden Globe and Peabody awards, among others.
