Warner Bros. motion capture film “Happy Feet” was the big surprise of 2006, earning $384 million worldwide and stealing the Oscar for the best animated film from Disney / Pixar “Cars”. The George Miller, director of the film also did well with critics, to obtain the approval of 74% in the global network of Rotten Tomatoes.
Now, Warner Bros. and George Miller have officially announced that they would do a sequel to Happy Feet, and a star Elijah Wood and Robin Williams was officially signed to reprise to their characters.

According to Reuters, Wood (who also delivered the main role in the animated Shane Acker`s film 9) will return as Mumble, the penguin who cannot sing but can dance up a storm. Robin Williams is likely filling the sound for one or two characters played in the previous film: Adele penguin Ramon and / or the Rockhopper penguin Lovelace, who had a bad experience with a ring of non-biodegradable plastic led to beer cans. Savion Glover is not confirmed, but probable will also likely return, as a body double Mumble dance.
Conservative Steve “The Crocodile Hunter” Irwin – who voiced for the elephant seal Trev that had more of a resistance to DVD – certainly not returns, unless there has been significant progress in necromancy over the past 3 years.
Williams and Wood will return to Australia in late January to begin recording their vocal tracks. Miller is the director keeping the secret writing, but it is likely that the film will (a) the role of intercepting meters wide (b) the possibility of cute baby penguin Mumble and Gloria, and (c) more warnings about climate change conservatives angered by the first time.
So far, there has been no advertising or co-stars Brittany Murphy (who voiced Gloria), Hugh Jackman (Memphis), Nicole Kidman (Norma Jean) and Hugo Weaving (Noah the Elder) who, in exchange for a Happy Feet 2. Animal Logic will again handle the motion-capture animation for the movie.
Miller has another suite on the go: he`s prepare for the 4th live action Mad Max film, Fury Road sub-titles, which may or may not include star Mel Gibson as the titular character. Miller has said that he wanted to make the film after having followed closely the events of the film 3rd Mad Max film, Beyond Thunderdome, which was released in 1985. That means a recasting of the Mad Max character, since Mel Gibson is no longer the right age; however, it’s not known whether Miller will give Gibson a cameo in that flick.
Happy Feet 2 is roughly scheduled for November 18, 2011 release.
