“Ghost” tapped screenwriter of “Resurrection”

The Oscar-winning screenwriter of “Ghost” by Bruce Joel Rubin has been hired to write the DreamWorks adaptation of the Japanese cult hit “Resurrection.”

Akihiko Shiota 2003 pic supernaturally focused on topics in a city where people who have been dead for decades back to life. Instead of participating in zombie behavior, however, the people simply return to their normal lives as if nothing has changed.

DreamWorks bought the remake rights to “Resurrection”, entitled “Yomigaeri” in Japanese last year.

Rubin, who has already written a treatment for developing the project, the type of offer emotionally focused for it. Besides “Ghost”, wrote the first 90-years drama “Jacob’s Ladder” and, more recently, wrote Eric Bana / Rachel McAdams love story “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” which opened last week at No. 3 in the box – office tally.
