“Ghost Rider” being held from critics

Th typical kiss of death for a film is when the studio decides to hold it back from the critics so it can’t be reviewed. This tactic is usually reserved for horror films where a review is not necessary to bring in core fans, but to see a hyped film like this held back can’t be good.  Of course the studio has a different spin on this story.

Critics are being invited to the premiere the night before the opening as well as a “courtesy” screening on Friday, which means reviews will be buried in the Saturday papers.

Will this keep me away from the film on it’s opening weekend?  I might wait and see what kind of reviews appear on Saturday before I decide to go and you have to assume critics won’t be in a good mood when they write thei columns.  Obviously Spiderman has set the bar high fo comic movies and if Ghost can’t come close you know the die hard fans will be ripping it all over the web.  If you hear anything drop a comment!!
