Vacancy - Are You Up for a Thriller?

vacancyIf you are in the mood for a good horror/thriller movie, then you might keep your money and wait a few more days until the official release of Vacancy, on the 20th of April. It has been a while since the last noticeable thriller, don’t you think so?

The plot of the movie is quite original, and not quite predictable - few thriller movies actually manage to completely get out of the predictability pattern and to surprise us, or better said, to shock us. Anyway, the plot: David and Amy, played by Luke Wilson Kate Beckinsale are forced, after taking a shortcut through unknown places (bad move, you might think) and after their car breaks down, to spend the night at a lonely motel in an isolated area. With nothing else to do than watching TV, they discover the fact that the movies were actually shot in the same motel, in the same room. Obviously, the movies they are watching are horror movies. Real horror movies. Even more obviously, our heroes panic. What follows is a row of trappings, tunnels and escaping attempts.

So: Will they make it? Will they survive? How can they escape when “they” (whoever is behind the malicious plan) see everything? - Actually, the last one is one of the movie’s taglines. For sure, you might ask yourself these questions all throughout the movie and this is a good thing, meaning that this was the exact intention of the writer and director, to keep you tensed and worried for the sake of the David and Amy. But in case you want to see the movie, you need to find the answers to these questions on your own.

Here is a good news: if you are planning to take your date to this movie, there might be a little cuddling going one, simply because she will probably be terrified and jump in your protecting arms - luckily for you.
