The Tripper - The Next Serial Killer Movie

Image1Be prepared to welcome the movie debuts next week, since there are wide ranges if horror movies, comedies and animation films, all worthy your attention! And one of these is The Tripper.

A bit of horror (or some might say too much horror), a bit of science fiction, some hippies and a “serial killer” plot and there you go: we have The Tripper! Under the tagline “Forget the trees. Forget the planet. Save yourself.”, the movie says it all: some people who gather at a hippie festival are haunted (and killed, one by one) by a psychotic character that has a Ronald Reagan obsession. So, instead of getting some love, peace, tolerance and understanding, our hippie heroes get the exact opposite… how dramatic.

Now you could ask yourself: who could come up with such a story, such a mixture between hippies and violence? Well, we are talking about David Arquette, who not only did his directorial debut, but also co-produced it and co-scripted it. Oh, wait, he also stars in it. The movie could be described as being a bit weird, a bit odd, sort of scary, yet sort of predictable - after all, we are dealing with a serial killer and it’s not hard to guess the next moves of such a villain, right?

Some read much more into this movie than a simple horror story where everyone gets butchered with an axe. Actually, the movie could have quite a substantial political base, so you might get some ideological challenge besides all the suspense and fear. If all this sounds tempting enough in order to sacrifice an afternoon (one hour and thirty-three minutes, to be exact) and a few dollars, then you should know that the movie will appear in theatres starting with the 20th of April. Enjoy!
