Fracture - Thrilling Drama, Teasing Plot and Smart Roles

Here is one movie that seems to be receiving high grades these days: Fracture. Well, the first reason is obvious and it is the fact that Anthony Hopkins is in it. And it is not a passenger role, but the role of a sharp, intriguing murderer - sounds familiar?
Since we are dealing with the genuine dosage of drama, characteristic to a thriller movie focused on investigations, you can lose its charm if knowing the story, but, in case you can’t resist your curiosity, here it goes: it all starts from the classical, evergreen plot - the wife cheats the husband (who, unfortunately enough, happens to be the super-clever Ted, played by Anthony Hopkins) and the husband shoots the wife. In the face - just a small detail. Highly original up to this point, you might think. The police show up and the murderer confesses the crime - intentionally - to the actual lover of his wife. The case goes to court and the shooter chooses to represent himself, but, at the same time, Will, a young and smart attorney comes along - and poor Will, he will be incredibly manipulated and played by the clever Ted, right before having his big shot at becoming a reputable prosecutor. But this is enough to make you want more and go watch the movie!
In any case, there are many twisted situations - that somehow resemble the extreme situations presented in high class investigation series - that can keep your interest. Moreover, the chasing, the manipulating and playing, the “dog and cat” game and the intellectual teasing are some other extra bonuses you might get when watching the movie. All in all, Fracture, directed by Gregory Hoblit, seems to be one of those movies with a twisted enough scenery and plot in order to keep you watch with high intensity and with cleverly shaped characters that, in addition, are played by highly “optimized” actors.
