Let’s take a look at the Box Office this week - what can we see? Oh, there is a new entry, a brand new entry right on the second position (nope, no movie can dethrone the hugely successful Spider Man 3). So, what’s the name of the newly runner-up? It’s 28 Weeks Later - if it sounds familiar, then you should know that we are dealing with the producers of 28 Days Later. Yes, it is a sequel - after all, we already established that this season is ruled by sequels.
What can be said about the movie? Maybe that it offers yet another interpretation of the apocalypse (not that we are bored), with all the horrific and devastating package of terrific scenes. More exactly, Britain is left empty after a terrible virus - US comes to help and starts to rebuild the country, to reform families and so on - but is it safe? You guessed, it’s not. And so, the horror action featuring zombies begins.
Since it is a sequel, you might ask yourself: is it better than the original? Well, some say that while it keeps certain patterns of the original, it is more intense, more devastating (yes, this is a good thing in a horror film) and stronger. If you watch the movie, don’t be fooled by its first minutes that start peacefully and neat - after all, those minutes are the actual silence before the storm. The conclusion: highly recommended for the fans of the horror genre, but also to those up for 91 minutes of speedy zombie action.
