The Bug - The Ultimate Psychological Thriller

Some of you might miss the old horrific thrillers from the 70’s and the 80’s. Where are those movies with terrifying invasions and with insane characters? Oh, wait, one of them just popped into the Box Office - and it might be quite a “hard to digest” kind of movie: Bug. No, it is not a metaphorical name; it simply refers to the bug, as in the insect. Oh, wait, there is more: “They live in your blood and they feed on your brain” - the bugs, that is. You guessed, it is one of those horror films that turn your stomach upside down. And yes, it is about an insect invasion - yippee!
After all, the tagline itself defines the film as “One of the most disturbing horror movies imaginable” - and, believe us, they are right. And in order to prove this fact, you should know that the director of Bug is the actual writer of The Exorcist. You get it, there will be gradual and increasing madness, up to the point of total despair. There will be phobias, paranoia and there will be obsession and insanity. And did we mention madness? But all these are the actual flavors of the film!
You have to have a pretty tough stomach for this one. And no, don’t take your kids with you. Better yet, don’t take your date with you, because you won’t be watching any sweet scenes, that is for sure. But hey, this doesn’t mean that the movie is not worth watching - on the contrary, if you are a fan of the genre, rush to the movie theatres! Bug proves to be quite surprising and not as predicable as you might expect from a movie that focuses on the invasion of tiny ugly creatures. Enjoy!
