Nancy Drew - “Get a Clue”

We all love Harry Potter - well, all the young ones, at least - but what about a hero for the young girls to look up to? We mean, there seem to be so many loveable and sharp teen male heroes out there, so it is about time to have a girl hero in the movie theatres. Wait a minute, we have her - Nancy Drew.
Let’s see what the tagline has to say: “This small town girl is moving to the big city.” We are quite familiar with such plot premises. And we are also familiar with the reverse, such as spoiled high-maintenance Californian girl moving to the suburbs. So what does the small town girl do in the big city? “She is trying to be like the other girls”, they say - well, that might be a little hard, considering how special and perfect she is. Plus, she solves mysteries, just like a genuine detective! And to complete the statement, “Where Nancy Drew goes, mystery always follows.”
The target audience, you ask? Well, probably, their average age jiggles around 16. Not that it is a bad thing - actually, it is much more desirable for your little kid or teenage child to watch the lovable and smart feminine character than the movies with high levels of violence, blood, sexual scenes and others as such, don’t your think?
Even if, at first sight, the movie might seem as shallow as the little funny comedies, the fact is that it brings charm, it is loaded with morals and values that little ones can actually understand. You don’t even need to be familiar with the Nancy Drew novels before actually watching the movie - it manages to be quite as appealing and captivating, so enjoy!
