Hot Fuzz - British Comedy Plus Classic Action

Looking for a DVD with one of the latest action movies? Then look no further than Hot Fuzz. You don’t even have to be a fan of the genre to like it. What genre, you ask? Well, a sort of mixture between action and comedy, plus some thriller flavor.
Here is the story: we have got a London-based super skilled officer, who is, basically, too good at what he is doing and, therefore, he is embarrassing his coworkers. And as a result, he is sent to a “picture perfect” village, where no crime ever occurs. Right. But if this would be it, then the movie would end at minute number 20. So, as skilled and as sharp as he is, he discovers that the village and its people are somewhere at the opposite of the apparent perfection.
A wide palette of jokes - and some of them quite inspired - a bit of intentional silliness and an extra bit of parody: this might be the most accurate stylistic description of the Hot Fuzz genre. Something not as perfect and positive about the movie? Well, there might be a bit too much “bum bum” at the end - or shooting scenes, to be more exact - but other than that, a great combination of humor and action.
You might be inclined to skeptically think: “Hmm, British humor?” But the thing is that Hot Fuzz’s script manages to be sharp, clever and commercial at the same time. That, plus the quality acting makes the movie a genuine comedy for all tastes. Enjoy!
